Major Future Plans: Railway Access, Solar Power and Energy Storage at Fortem’s Iernut Factory

Romanian investment in local manufacturing continues to shape economic development in Mureș County in 2025, with the opening of Fortem’s AAC factory in Iernut standing out as one of the most significant industrial events of the year.

Viorel Iacob, CEO of DVI Production, underlines the company’s long-term vision and ambitions:

“Our goal is to become a benchmark in the industry by delivering durable, high-performance construction materials of the highest quality. With the launch of the Iernut factory, we are targeting regional leadership and offering customized solutions that contribute to the success of every project.”

Covering a total area of 13,000 square meters, the factory distinguishes itself through state-of-the-art technology, optimized workflows, and exceptional operational standards. The production process comprises 12 integrated stages, from the preparation of high-quality locally sourced sand to the autoclaving and packaging of AAC blocks. Advanced precision technologies and robotic systems ensure maximum efficiency, while proprietary know-how helps minimize downtime and reduce production costs.

Already ranked among the most modern AAC production facilities in Europe, the Iernut factory is set for further development. Fortem plans to introduce a railway line within the factory perimeter to streamline the transport of raw materials and finished products. In addition, the company intends to install photovoltaic panels and energy storage systems, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency.

Fortem’s industrial journey began in 2017 with the launch of Romania’s first fully automated lintel factory, and the expertise gained since then is reflected in every aspect of the new facility. Strong emphasis is placed on rigorous quality control and continuous innovation, positioning the Iernut factory as a model of Romanian industrial excellence.

Investments such as the Iernut project not only strengthen Romania’s industrial base, but also support local community development and contribute to increasing added value across the national economy.
